La Tortuga, the Italian tortoise, clearly feels at home in the extensive pine grove on Sardinia's north coast. The tortoise has given its name to a campsite that seems to have everything's particularly by Sardinian standards, as luxury campsites are difficult to find on the island. The site, which is largely in good shade, is level and extends over 17 hectares. Unusual for Sardinia, the range of toilet facilities even includes different types of cabins for rent: from a private WC to a complete bathroom, as well as facilities for the physically disabled, washing machines and ironing equipment. Drivers of motorhomes will find a supply and waste-disposal station. Vignolasports, a centre specialising in water sports which forms an integrated part of the campsite. The popular activities offered by this centre include taster diving courses, and guests can hire surfboards, diving equipment and boats. Another particularly beautiful feature is the extensive beach, which has small granite rocks scattered throughout. However, the great distance to the next village ,easy to reach by public transport, allows you to feel completely immersed in the nature.
